About the Illustrator
Jordan Cannon is an Artist, Writer/Illustrator, and Educator who specializes in Experimental and Interdisciplinary Narrative work. She is constantly enchanted with Magical Realism and Speculative Fiction , as it is portrayed in literature, movies, graphic novels, etc. Her curiosity and creativity fuels her passion to make art, seeing creating as a way to access the mysteries and endless possibilities of art and making. She is inspired most by philosophy, metaphor, and magic.
Jordan is a graduate of the MFA Illustration Practice program at the Maryland Institute College of Art. Her work has been published by the Norman Rockwell Museum, Womanly Magazine, and Spotify. She is currently working Freelance, as well as continually seeking more opportunities in publication as a Writer/Illustrator working in Experimental Comix, Picture Books, and Graphic Novels, whilst also working as an educator on the college level.
Jordan has experience teaching Studio Art, Art History, Graphic Design, and Illustration courses on the college level for Shepherd University, Hagerstown Community College, Frederick Community College, McDaniel College, and Montserrat College of Art through their program abroad in Guangzhou, China, where Jordan taught Illustration as Communication for Guangdong Industry Polytechnic.
